We love Precision! The coaches are great — so knowledgeable, and not only are they skilled themselves but they know how to communicate. It's rare to find people this skilled AND able to teach others effectively.
Both my boys have taken the kids class several times and I can't recommend it enough. The instructors keep a large group of kids focused and learning for the entire class.
Matt's Monday night gi class is one of my favorites. Whether you're looking to get in shape or compete, this school has you covered. My daughter loved the kids' program too.
The questions we get most often from new students, parents, and competitors thinking about walking through the door. Don't see yours? Call (445) 867-1238 — we'll answer it.
No experience required. Most students who walk in have never trained a day in their life. Our fundamentals classes are built specifically for beginners — you'll learn basic positions, escapes, and safe rolling principles from a black-belt-led coaching staff. Just show up in athletic clothes and we'll handle the rest.
Our Kids Jiu-Jitsu program starts at age 7 and runs through age 14, split into two age-tiered classes — Ages 7-10 and Ages 10-14. Each class is built around what's developmentally appropriate for that age range, focusing on coordination, discipline, and confidence as much as technique.
Wear athletic clothes — a t-shirt and shorts or athletic pants without zippers or pockets. We'll lend you a loaner Gi if you need one. Bare feet on the mats. Arrive 15 minutes early so we can walk you through a quick waiver and introduce you to the coach.
Yes — Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is one of the safer martial arts for kids because it focuses on grappling and submissions rather than striking. Our kids classes emphasize control, technique, and respect. Every class is supervised by a credentialed instructor and matched with same-age training partners.

For most consistent adult students training 2–3 times per week, blue belt takes about 1.5 to 3 years. Promotions are based on demonstrated technique, mat time, and consistency — not just months on the calendar. Pete Shoemaker, our head instructor, awards belts based on the IBJJF standard.
