Real instruction
The room is led by experienced coaches with real time on the mat. Precision isn't a place where kids are simply kept busy — they're coached.
At Precision Jiu-Jitsu at The Barracks, kids learn how to stay calm, move with control, listen with purpose, and protect themselves without striking.
No credit card. No pressure. One week to see how your child feels on the mat.
You want something that changes how your child carries themselves.
You want them to look people in the eye. To hear instruction and follow through. To handle frustration without melting down. To have a place where effort matters more than being naturally athletic. To feel what it's like to earn progress instead of being handed a trophy.
And yes — you want them to know what to do if someone grabs them, pushes them, or tries to intimidate them.
That's why parents bring their kids to Jiu-Jitsu.
Not because they want their child to fight. Because they want their child to become harder to scare, easier to guide, and more confident in their own body.
You can tell a child to be confident. You can tell them to focus. You can tell them to calm down.
On the mat, they get to practice it.
And slowly, class by class, they start to believe something different about themselves.
I can do hard things.
That belief is the real win.

So they learn how to stay calm when things feel uncomfortable.
So they can make better decisions and protect themselves without relying on punches or panic.
So they learn to follow instruction, stay present, and finish what they start.
So they move better, build balance, and become more comfortable in their own body.
So they learn how to train hard without acting tough.
So they understand that getting stuck isn't failing — it's part of learning.
So they build strength, movement, and confidence in a structured environment.
So they learn to pause, think, and act — instead of reacting emotionally.
They just need a place to start.
At The Barracks, kids are coached through age-appropriate classes that meet them where they are. Some come in excited. Some come in nervous. Some are quiet for the first few classes. Some have big energy and need help learning how to control it.
That's normal. The goal isn't to force every child into the same mold. The goal is to help each child build discipline, confidence, and practical skill through consistent training.
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is different from striking-based martial arts. Kids aren't learning to trade punches — they're learning to move, control space, escape bad positions, and use technique instead of force.
Classes emphasize control, technique, and respect — not aggression.
Kids train with same-age partners under direct coach supervision.
Tap-early culture, structured drills, no ego — from day one.
As a parent, you don't just want your child to learn self-defense. You want them to learn it in a room where safety, respect, and control come first.

Every class has a purpose. Kids learn fundamentals, self-defense, movement, and practical application through a clear path.
Children don't need an intimidating room. They need a respectful one. The culture at The Barracks is built around mutual respect, effort, and growth.
This isn't just a gym. It's a room where kids, parents, beginners, competitors, and families become part of the same community.
After-school and weekend kids classes — more than one chance to make training work during the week.
“Both my boys have taken the kids class several times and I can't recommend it enough. The instructors keep a large group of kids focused and learning jiu-jitsu for the entire class. My kids love it.”
“Great place with high-quality instructors and training partners. Whether you're looking to get in shape or compete, this school has you covered. My daughter loved the kids program.”
“The coaches are so knowledgeable, and not only are they skilled themselves but they know how to communicate. It's rare to find people this skilled and able to teach others effectively.”
This is a good fit if your child…
you want a babysitting activity, instant results, or a room that lets kids do whatever they want. Jiu-Jitsu works because it's structured. Kids improve because they show up, listen, try, make mistakes, and keep going. That's the point.
There's a moment parents notice.
Their child walks in a little taller. They stop saying “I can't” so quickly. They shake off a mistake faster. They start showing pride in something they earned.
That's what consistent training can do. Not overnight. Not with hype. But through real coaching, real effort, and a room that expects more from them — in the best way.
Give your child a real chance to experience the mat, meet the coaches, and see what Jiu-Jitsu feels like. We'll help you pick the right class for their age.
We'll show you the kids class calendar on the next step.
Our Kids Jiu-Jitsu starts at age 7 and runs through age 14, split into two age-tiered classes — Ages 7-10 and Ages 10-14. Pick the age group on the form and we'll see you on the mat.
No. Many kids start with no martial arts experience at all. The first goal is to help them feel safe, understand the basics, and learn how class works.
Jiu-Jitsu focuses on grappling, movement, control, and technique — not striking. Kids are coached in a supervised setting with an emphasis on respect, control, and safe training habits.
Comfortable athletic clothes are fine for the first class. A t-shirt and shorts or athletic pants without zippers or pockets works well. If a Gi is needed, the team can help.
No. Some students compete and Precision has had success on the competition scene, but competition is not required. Many families choose Jiu-Jitsu for confidence, focus, self-defense, and personal growth.
That's common. A good kids program shouldn't require a child to be fearless on day one. The goal is to help them take the first step, get comfortable, and build confidence over time.
That's also common. Jiu-Jitsu gives kids a structured physical outlet where they have to listen, move, work with a partner, and practice self-control.
Precision offers after-school and weekend kids classes during the week. Once you claim the free week, you'll be able to choose a class time that fits your schedule.
